Last updated: January 1, 2026. By using this website you agree to the terms described below. Please read them carefully.
opnsense.download is an independent, non-commercial fan site dedicated to OPNsense, a free and open-source firewall and routing platform built on HardenedBSD. We are a small group of network enthusiasts who deploy the software ourselves and want to share guides, background information and practical field experience with the wider community.
This website is not the official home of OPNsense. The domain you are reading has no affiliation with, endorsement from, sponsorship by or other connection to Deciso B.V., the company that develops, publishes and supports OPNsense. Anything we say here reflects our own opinions and tests; it does not represent the views of the vendor. If you want the canonical sources for the opnsense download, documentation, official support or commercial contracts, please visit the project's primary channels directly.
The names "OPNsense", "HardenedBSD" and "Deciso", together with any related logos and trademarks, remain the property of their respective owners. We use these names only for identification and descriptive purposes — so that visitors know exactly which piece of software we are writing about. Nothing on this site should be read as a claim of ownership, partnership or commercial relationship with the trademark holders. If a rights holder believes any use here oversteps fair, descriptive reference, we will gladly address the concern.
Every page on this site is informational. We do not host, distribute or resell the opnsense iso, signed firmware updates or any related installation media. When we write about obtaining the software, we link to the official sources controlled by the developer. Always download the opnsense iso, plugins and documentation exclusively from official mirrors and repositories so the cryptographic signatures remain trustworthy and your appliance boots code you can verify.
The articles, guides and opinions published here reflect our personal experience at the time of writing. Software changes, networks vary and mistakes happen. We make no representations or warranties of any kind — express or implied — about the completeness, accuracy, reliability or suitability of the information on this site. Any action you take based on our content is strictly at your own risk. We strongly recommend testing every firewall rule, VPN tunnel and failover setup in a safe environment before relying on it in production.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operators of opnsense.download shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, this website or the information published on it — including, but not limited to, network outages, data loss, lost profits or business interruption.
This site may contain links to third-party websites, including the official OPNsense project pages, community forums and reference documentation. We have no control over the content, policies or availability of those sites and accept no responsibility for them. A link does not imply endorsement unless we explicitly say so on the same page.
When using our contact form or communicating with us, you agree not to submit unlawful, abusive, misleading or spam content, and not to attempt to disrupt or compromise the operation of the website. We reserve the right to moderate or refuse messages at our discretion.
We may revise these Terms of Use at any time. Updates will be published on this page with a new revision date, and continued use of the website after such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
Questions about these terms can be sent to support@opnsense.download or through our contact form. Our postal address is 228 Park Avenue South, New York, NY 10003, USA.
